Mission Statement
LA Future Filmmakers’ Stage (LAFFS) is a one day event focused on allowing high school filmmakers to build networks with each other and learn from experienced filmmakers in the industry to further their passion, knowledge, and interest in filmmaking. LAFFS welcomes high school students (9-12th grade) all across Southern California and the greater Los Angeles area. By providing a space for high school filmmakers to meet with one another and a forum for discussion with and learning from top filmmakers in their field, participants will gain the knowledge and connections to make their own films.
Vision Statement
LAFFS aspires to facilitate the formation and growth of networks of high school filmmakers which will continue to develop even after the program is over. With the multitude of high school students interested in film production, LAFFS seeks to bring together the young filmmaking community to strengthen bonds and help unlock and develop each filmmaker’s potential. With the connections made during the event, participants will leave having formed their own Los Angeles-based groups of passionate filmmakers with which they can collaborate and work together. From the panels and workshops, LAFFS offers participants not only a broader view of the film industry, but expert knowledge and insight into different areas of filmmaking, from cinematography to producing.
